Two incoming graduate students have been awarded major scholarships by their employer, GL group, Inc., to pursue their MBAs at Webster.

Two incoming Webster University graduate students have been awarded major scholarships by their employer, GL group, Inc. Nick Dreyer, bids manager, Booksource, and Katy Hostman, regional accounts coordinator, Booksource, were named recipients of the 2015 Marcia Jaffe Scholarship, which will cover 90 percent of their costs of pursuing an advanced degree.

Dreyer and Hostman will both pursue a master’s of business administration at Webster University.

“We believe strongly that the key to success is people, and every one of our employees is a valuable asset to our team,” said Gary Jaffe, chief executive officer of GL group, which is based in St. Louis. “This year’s recipients are exemplary employees, and the company can only benefit from the knowledge and experience they gain as they pursue their master’s degrees.”

Through the annual scholarship, GL group covers 90 percent of tuition, books and lab fees for employees wishing to pursue an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree. The Marcia Jaffe Scholarship is named in memory of Marcia Jaffe, late wife of company founder Sandy Jaffe and father of Gary; Neil Jaffe, chief strategy officer, GL group; and Donna Jaffe, president, Peaceable Kingdom. The scholarship reflects Marcia Jaffe’s commitment to ongoing individual growth and development.

“The scholarship is above and beyond any expectation of an employer, and I’m thrilled for the opportunity,” said Hostman.

“This generous scholarship from GL group will provide me the opportunity to continue my education in an area of study that I’m passionate about,” said Dreyer.
