Baseball Headed to 3rd World Series after Sweeping Regional Championship

By winning the regional championship, the Webster University baseball team will head to its third NCAA D-III College World Series in the last four years.

The Webster University baseball team is headed to its third World Series appearance in the last four years.

The No. 24 ranked Gorloks won the NCAA III Waterloo Regional with a 5-1 win over Carthage College (Wisconsin) on May 17 in Waterloo, Iowa. Webster swept the regional, going 4-0, and will now travel to Appleton, Wisconsin, on May 22 for the the D-III “College World Series.”

The Gorloks will be one of eight teams vying for the national championship in the double elimination format. Webster previously advanced to the World Series in 2012 and 2013.

The Gorloks are 34-13 on the season and await word on which team will be their first round opponent at Appleton.
