Reflective Teaching Community Meeting March 20: Pre-flection and Reflection

| March 16, 2015

Are you interested in translating educational activities into meaningful change in students’ lives? Do you seek to expose your students to different viewpoints on issues and problems? Do you want to help your students learn how to enhance their skills and strategies for discovery?

Come join the Reflective Teaching Community for its second meeting of the spring semester, where we will explore strategies that address these questions and more as we continue to focus on aspects of Transformational Teaching. This month Erik Palmore will be leading the discussion on promoting pre-flection and reflection – where students critique their own assumptions about their ideas and approaches to solving problems, and reveal something new to themselves in the process.

Join us Friday, March 20, from noon- 1 p.m. at the Faculty Development Center in the Emerson Library.

We’ll be ordering pizza to feed those who attend, as well as sending participants resources prior to the meeting, so please RSVP by email to Chris Jones at the Faculty Development Center ( If you can’t attend but are interested in the topic, send Chris an email, he’ll be happy to share those resources with you as well. We hope to see you there!
