Video: ‘Rooftop’ Beatles Tribute Performance Captured by Webster Communications Students

| January 27, 2015

Last Jan. 30, the Department of Audio Aesthetics and Technology in the School of Communication sponsored a live music concert  to commemorate two major milestone anniversaries of the legendary rock group, The Beatles: the 45th anniversary of their final live performance as a group – a rooftop concert on the roof of their Saville Row recording studio – and the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ arrival in the U.S.

In recognition of that Saville Row performance, the concert by The Abbey Road Warriors took place on the Emerson Library’s “rooftop” patio. Their concert was recorded by Audio Production majors, captured on video by Video Production majors, photographed by The Journal student newspaper, and garnered news coverage in national, local and trade media.

“The event was a success due to the efforts of many people at the University who attended the event, worked hard to spread the news and who enabled the department to actually hold the concert,” said Barry Hufker, department chair, Audio Aesthetics and Technology.

Hufker invites the community to view the final product from the event, a video capturing the sights and sounds from that day.
