The student-produced Ampersand is now available digitally with its own app on iTunes and Google Play.

The Fall 2014 issue of The Ampersand, Webster University’s award-winning student-produced magazine, is now available digitally with its own app on iTunes (for iPads) and Google Play (Android). School of Communications students, who produce the print edition through the Magazine Production course, developed the new app as part of the course.

“This is a great development for the School of Communications,” said Eric Rothenbuhler, dean. “I’m so proud of our students, who have done a wonderful job developing our first-ever student media mobile app publication.”

“Our goal was to keep the look and feel of the printed magazine while adding video, extra photos, expanded content and audio,” said Karen Burch, instructor for the course and interactive media manager in Global Marketing & Communications. “They not only produced a very nice printed magazine, they also worked hard to make this digital folio a reality.”

Now, in addition to the print version available on campus in St. Louis, students, faculty and staff from Webster campuses around the world can see the latest Ampersand by downloading the free app and subscribing to be notified when future issues are published. To download, just search for “Webster University Ampersand” in iTunes or Android vendors.
