Public Relations students in Webster’s School of Communications received a window into the professional world as they toured three local organizations on Nov. 7, gathering tips and tricks of the PR trade.

The event, sponsored by the Career Planning & Development Center and School of Communications, featured visits to FOCUS St. Louis, Osborn Barr, and Nestle Purina. Company representatives, including Webster alumni, were on hand to provide insight and advice about careers in public relations.

Students who attend the tour will be sharing their experiences in classes and in upcoming chapter meetings for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).

About the PRSSA

The Webster University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) was started in 2004 to enhance students’ knowledge of public relations and provide access to professional development opportunities.

PRSSA has 11,000 members in more than 300 chapters on college campuses across the country. The Webster chapter is active at the St. Louis home campus. PRSSA aims to help students understand current theories and procedures of the profession; appreciate the highest ethical ideals and principles; grow aware of an appropriate professional attitude; and develop into highly qualified, well-prepared professionals.

Meetings are held in Sverdrup room 120 from 3-4 p.m. Upcoming 2014 meeting dates:
