[Updated] Emergency Broadcast Testing on the Webster Groves Campus Oct. 20 – 23

| October 16, 2014

Information Technology and Public Safety will conduct tests of the phone-based emergency broadcast system at the Webster Groves campus each afternoon Monday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 23. This test will ensure their reliability in the event of an actual emergency.

What to Expect
At the start of each test, phones in the test area will display a text message. They will then broadcast a pre-recorded audio message followed by a brief, live-broadcast message through the speaker phone. If you are on the phone during the test, your call will be placed on hold, and you will hear the messages through the receiver or headset. Your call will automatically resume at the end of the test. The party on the other end of the call will not hear the messages, only hold music.

The full test should last less than 10 minutes. At the conclusion of the test, phones will display a text message directing you to complete an online survey.

How You Can Help
Once the test for your location begins, please remain in the area until the test is completed. Listen carefully to the test message. At the conclusion of the test, please take a few moments to fill out the feedback survey.
