Snapshots: Shaw AFB Commencement features Webster Myrtle Beach alum as speaker

Approximately 150 people celebrated the Class of 2014 at Webster’s Shaw Air Force Base commencement held at the Sumter Opera House in Sumter, South Carolina.

Karen Slevin, Class of 2010 graduate from Webster University’s Myrtle Beach campus location, was the guest speaker as Webster University Shaw Air Force Base held its 2014 commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 9.

The ceremony, held at the Sumter Opera House in Sumter, South Carolina, drew approximately 150 guests including family and friends of the graduates.

These graduating class members join a network of distinguished alumni that includes more than 200 active duty and retired generals and admirals, including several at the Pentagon and Joint Chiefs of Staff and thousands of active and retired military personnel.

Annual Commencement Ceremonies at Webster

The Webster Shaw Air Force Base commencement ceremony is part of an annual tradition of commencement ceremonies across Webster University’s worldwide network of campuses in eight countries on four continents around the world. All told, more than 172,000 Webster alumni form an elite global network of accomplished and connected citizens.
