Press Club Awards Scholarships to Webster Communications Students

The Times Newspapers and Webster University awarded scholarships to three Webster communication students at the Press Club and Journalism Foundation scholarship reception, held July 15 at St. Louis’ Norman Probstein Golf Clubhouse in Forest Park.

Each year the Press Club of Metropolitan St. Louis awards scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate a solid commitment to advancing the art of communications. These scholarships are based on essays, quality of work samples, letters of recommendation from educators, academic excellence and financial need.

Webster University School of Communications Scholarship Awardees

$1,000 Press Club Internship Scholarship recipient Laura Therese Schilli is a senior photography student pursuing a career in photography gallery management. She is interning at the Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries.

$1,000 Webster-Kirkwood Times/Webster University Journalism Foundation Scholarship recipient Regan Gillam will begin her senior year as a scriptwriting student. With a May 2015 graduation date, Gillam will be looking for careers in scriptwriting.

$1,000 West End Word/Webster University Journalism Foundation Scholarship recipient Lauren Blankenship will begin her last semester as an advertising and marketing communications student. Blankenship has specific career interests in public/community relations and advertising.
