Heilman retires after 33 years as a military campus director.

The Office of Military Affairs announces the following personnel changes:

Heilman Retires after 33 Years

Chris Heilman, director at Webster University’s Fort Stewart, Georgia, campus location, is retiring after 33 years of dedicated service to Webster University.

Brig. Gen. Mike Callan, USAF (Ret.), associate vice president in the Office of Military Affairs, said, “I was proud to have worked with such a passionate leader in education.”

Heilman began as the campus director at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas in 1981, then moved to Fort Stewart in 2010.

Separately, Webster University bids farewell to Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, assistant director Melanie Hamm. Her family is relocating to Shaw AFB, South Carolina, where her husband will assume his new duties at Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT).

“Melanie’s performance at Andrews AFB has been outstanding,” Callan said. “She’s led her team to achieve new heights in academic support to our military students and overall enrollment success. We wish Team Hamm nothing but the very best during their next assignment.

Marybeth Ernzen has been named the new assistant director at Andrews. Ernzen moves from her previous role as site coordinator at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center location. She has a BS in psychology and MS in education counseling from Old Dominion University.
