The grand marshal of the parade was Maj. Gen. Rita A. Aragon (ret.), secretary of Military and Veterans Affairs, who is a friend of Webster and its Oklahoma campus locations.

Sporting athletic shirts with Webster logo on the back, the team of Webster student volunteers led by Maj. Corrie Brice passed out candy to a crowd of nearly 1,500 spectators, promoting  awareness of Webster University to the community.

They were accompanied on the two-mile parade route by other Fort Sill campus universities. The students found many Webster alumni among the spectators, and hope to generate even greater participation next year.
