Gorlok Baseball Lands Five on ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Team

Five Gorloks garner ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region recognition.

More postseason honors rolled in for the Webster University baseball team as five members landed spots on the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Central Region Team. Three Gorloks were First Team choices: Isaac Behme, Corey Lasky and Taylor Stoulp, who are are now eligible for voting for the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings All-American Team.

Pitcher Behme was named to the All-Central Region First Team. He finished the season with an 8-1 record and a 3.52 ERA. This was Behme’s second straight year being named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region First Team. This past week, Behme was named to the d3.baseball.com All-Central Region Second Team for a second straight season as well. Behme was also a SLIAC All-Conference First Team selection this year.

Center fielder Lasky landed on the All-Central Region First Team after batting .385 and leading the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in runs (51) and hits (71). Lasky was named to the d3baseball.com All-Central Region First Team also. Like Behme, he was a SLIAC 2014 All-Conference First Team choisce.

Second baseman Stoulp earned his spot on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region First Team after leading the SLIAC in batting average (.407) and was second in hits (70), runs (45), and doubles (17). Stoulp was also named to the d3baseball.com All-Central Region First Team and was a SLIAC First Team All-Conference selection as well this year.

Joe Winckel, a designated hitter, was selected for the ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Second Team. He was sixth in average (.387) in the SLIAC, second in RBIs (49), third in hits (63), and fourth in home runs (6). Like Lasky and Stoulp, Winckel was a d3baseball.com All-Central Region First Team choice and was a SLIAC All-Conference First Team pick this spring.

Dylan Dean Smith, a starting pitcher/long reliever, was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Third Team. Smith tied for the SLIAC lead in wins with Behme (8) as he finished 8-1, and was fifth with a 2.80 earned run average. Smith was a SLIAC All-Conference Second Team selection in 2014.
