Lewis is the 2014 SLIAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year

Webster’s Marissa Lewis, a junior from Owasso, Oklahoma, was named the 2014 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Women’s Tennis Player of the Year after going undefeated in regular season conference play with a 6-0 record at #1 singles. Lewis joins Erin Rubinelli (2004) as the only Webster players to take home top individual honors.

Lewis handed two-time Player of the Year winner Carlie Sanderude, from Principia College, her only regular season loss in conference play this season. Lewis was also named to the SLIAC 2014 All-Conference First Team after finishing the season with a 10-3 overall record. Kaylen Kress was named SLIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention at #2 singles. Kress was 5-1 in SLIAC play and 9-4 overall in single.

Lewis and Kress were named to the SLIAC Honorable Mention Doubles #1. They were 5-1 in SLIAC play and 10-4 overall.

Webster sophomore Erin Roop of Weatherford, Texas, was named to the SLIAC Women’s Tennis All-Sportsmanship Team.
