Webster OMA Team Participates in ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ Veterans Job Fair

| April 9, 2014

Members of Webster University’s Office of Military Affairs (OMA), Brig. Gen. Mike Callan, associate vice president for military and government programs, and Jason Blakemore, Veterans Affairs (VA) vocational rehabilitation counselor, attended the 2014 Hiring Our Heroes Job Fair at the Machinist Building Corporation in Bridgeton, Mo., on April 8.

Representing Webster University as an educational institution, Callan presented information about Webster University to those visiting the event and Blakemore counseled dozens of veterans on their VA benefits and entitlements.

In addition to interviews, Hiring Our Heroes also provided a free workshop that focused on resume-building, job search tools, interview techniques and educational opportunities in the greater St. Louis area for the several hundred veterans, active duty military members, guard/reserve members and military spouses.

Hiring Our Heroes is co-sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Defense Department’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Office.
