My Webster Portal Update: Access Assistance, Payday Reporting/Approvals

Nearly 1,800 community members are now registered and actively using My Webster, with the successful execution of three payrolls, 2014 benefits enrollment, and online employee self-service updates of personal, payroll and benefits-related information. This modernization eliminates many paper-based systems, improving the sustainability, convenience and functionality of multiple self-service features while increasing accountability and responsibility for Webster University employees.

With a major conversion such as this, some transition issues are expected, and the rollout team remains committed to monitoring and addressing them. This month, some users have reported difficulty with certain system access requirements. Though Java and browser versions were, in most cases, initially updated and installed prior to holiday break, in January some users are now experiencing errors and pop-ups requesting Java, applet updates or other difficulties upon log-in or when accessing certain parts of the My Webster site (e.g. when attempting to view pay stubs).

The following update addresses access issues, and includes a reminder about the new way to report and approve time via the My Webster portal.

Access Issues with Java or Browser

At this point, it is extremely important that you do not update your Java or browser versions once you have successfully accessed the system, as only certain versions of each are supported by our system provider, ADP.

Information Technology is currently investigating and monitoring this issue — testing browsers, Java versions and platforms, as well as working with system provider ADP, to resolve this issue. If you are experiencing problems accessing My Webster, the following resources are available to help you:

  • Technology-related Questions (such as Internet browser and Java issues or resetting your password): Contact the University IT Service Desk at: 314-968-5995 or Toll-free: 1-866-435-7270.
  • Human Resources, Payroll and Student Employment Related Questions: Contact the My Webster Command Center at: 314-968-4500. The Center is located in SV 107 and is open for you to receive in-person assistance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • You can also email the My Webster Support Team with your questions at: Voicemail and email are monitored after hours.
Reporting for Salaried Staff and Supervisors

As a reminder for salaried staff, the first business day after every payday is the deadline for salaried staff to finalize and approve their timecards to their supervisors for final approval. The timecards reflect the time period for the previous pay cycle. (For example, salaried staff were paid Wednesday, Jan. 15. They will be approving and submitting timecards for the period: Jan. 1-15 on Thursday, Jan. 16. Salaried supervisors should approve their staff’s timecards by the second business day following the payday (Friday, Jan. 17).

In the event these approvals are inadvertently overlooked, an email notification is sent four days after the pay date.
