Two Webster Athletes Named SLIAC Players of the Week

| November 4, 2013

Two Webster University student athletes have been chosen as conference “Player of the Week” in their respective sports for the week ending Nov. 3. Webster honorees are BJ Dryer (men’s soccer offense) and Tyler Brown (men’s soccer defense).

Dryer scored the game winning goal in a 1-0 win over Westminster to secure a first-place tie in the SLIAC standings, tallying the only goal of the game at the 22-minute mark of the contest.

Brown helped the Gorloks to a pair of shutout conference wins. He was part of a defense that allowed just two shots on goal combined in the two wins. Against Iowa Wesleyan, Brown and the Gorloks held their opponent to just one total shot and against Westminster they held the Blue Jays seven shots below their season average.
