How to Pledge: Every United Way Gift Matters

| October 31, 2013

A message from Webster University President Beth Stroble, Executive United Way Representative:

Webster University’s Greater St. Louis United Way campaign is well under way — to date, staff and faculty have raised more than $20,000. As you contemplate your gift, please consider the following:

  • A critical measure of our campaign’s success, beyond any monetary figure, is obtaining a 100 percent employee response rate.
  • Your gift, no matter the amount, is critical. Currently, 1 in 6 members of our community (many of whom are children) do not have adequate access to food.
  • When you give to the United Way, you are supporting a strong, highly accountable network of organizations that help more than 1 million members of the St. Louis area community each year. You are helping kids, parents, individuals, grandparents and families.

A bout with mercury poisoning and multiple infections left Nancy disabled and unable to work, and in danger of losing her home. Click to read her story and other ways the United Way helps.

How to Give

Every St. Louis-area Webster employee received a personal ePledge link via email. If you no longer have your personal United Way email with your custom link, please contact Kathy Marlock at kmarlock@webster.edu or by phone at: (314) 246-3149, and she will have your unique pledge link re-sent to you.

When you follow the link in your ePledge email, I encourage you to explore the “View Impact” link located on the left in the main menu of the contributions page. This tool allows you to enter a donation amount and view the tangible effects it can have on people in need. You can also read the stories of many people helped by the United Way here.

Webster’s campaign closes Friday, Nov. 8. Thank you for your support of the organizations that impact so many lives in our community.

Beth Stroble
President
