Carney Accepts Position as Assistant Provost for Student Affairs and Athletics

Paul Carney, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, has accepted a position as Assistant Provost for Student Affairs and Athletics effective immediately. He will continue to report directly to Julian Schuster, Provost, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role, Paul will promote the University and divisional missions, engage in strategic planning and budgeting in support of these missions, and determine relevant policies and practices that will ensure the expansion of innovative student affairs and athletics programming.

Paul will direct, supervise and evaluate all student activities, clubs, student government, educational enhancement programs, student community service, student housing and residence life, counseling, student health services, student conduct, student retention, special programs and services, career services, student records and athletics. His direct reports include the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, Director of Athletics, and the University Registrar.

An interim chief enrollment officer is expected to be appointed as soon as possible to focus on enrollment management issues.
