Happy Holidays from Webster University

Across the network of Webster University campuses, staff and faculty wished students and community members well as they headed into the holidays.

In St. Louis, Student Affairs staff flipped pancakes for students during a late-night finals week breakfast.

In Greenville, S.C., holiday gifts were handed to all current students, staff, and faculty, including a Webster University ornament (pictured above) and a personal note.

Kentucky Participates in Holiday Card Event at Fort Knox

Webster staff in Kentucky contributed to a community holiday project at Fort Knox.

For the second year in a row, Fort Knox invited community organizations to create and submit 4′ x 8′ decorated plywood Holiday Cards for display at Brooks Parade Field on base. Staff at Webster’s Kentucky campus thought it would be a good idea to put talents to use and participate.

Tammy Burke, community relations coordinator, and director Brian Daly put together a design concept, which Burke executed. The result is a four-paneled hinged piece, with four nutcracker figures against an American flag background. The two central figures are dressed in current Army Formal Mess uniform, the flanking figures have traditional nutcracker appearance. Organizations were not to include any advertising slogan, contact information, or anything overtly religious or political.

According to Fort Knox, “The aim is to add to the area community’s holiday spirit and foster friendly competition among all those who participate.” Though the Webster holiday card wasn’t a winner of the competition, Burke says, “It was a fun project to do, and a little out of the box for our outreach efforts. We will definitely do it again.”  There are roughly 55 cards on display through Jan. 2.

Representatives from Webster University campus locations throughout the world wish friends, colleagues and community partners a great end to 2012. View the official Webster University holiday e-card below:
