The 2013 Class will see three new members inducted.

Two former Webster University Gorlok student-athlete greats and one of the most respected soccer coaches in St. Louis make up the Webster Athletics 2013 Hall of Fame class.

Angie Carr (women’s basketball) and Crystal (Shelton) Spinner (women’s volleyball) join Marty Todt, the Webster men’s soccer coach for the past 25 seasons, in the Hall. They will be inducted on Feb. 2, 2013, at Grant Gymnasium, in the University Center on campus.

Carr: Webster Basketball Record Holder

Angie Carr, a 2005 graduate, was a member of Webster’s NCAA Division III “Sweet Sixteen” women’s basketball team in 2001-02. She was the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Player of the Year in 2005 and was a SLIAC First Team All-Conference choice for three straight seasons (2002-2005). Carr was a 2005 DIII News All-American Honorable Mention. She holds the Webster women’s basketball career record for points, is second in rebounds and free throws made, and is third in steals.

Spinner: Webster Volleyball Record Holder

Crystal (Shelton) Spinner, a 2007 graduate, was the SLIAC Player of the Year in 2005 and the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in 2004. She was a SLIAC First Team All-Conference selection all four years she played at Webster (2004-2007). Spinner holds the Webster career volleyball records for kills, digs, and sets played, and is second in career aces. She is also the Webster single season record holder for kills.

Todt: Webster Alumnus and Coaching Legend

Marty Todt, a 1992 graduate, completed his 25th season as Webster’s men’s soccer coach in 2012. He was inducted into the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame in 2011.  As coach, he has led the Gorloks to five SLIAC titles and five SLIAC Conference Tournament Championships, including both in 2012. He has taken teams to the NCAA Division III Tournament five years. He is 44th in wins (238) of all active men’s coaches in NCAA Division III.  His 25 seasons makes Todt the “dean” of the Webster Athletic coaching staff.

Feb. 2 Induction

The Webster Athletics 2013 Hall of Fame class will be inducted at halftime of the Webster men’s basketball game vs. Greenville College on Feb. 2 at Grant Gymnasium.

The Hall of Fame was established to honor those who reflect the Webster University Athletic Department’s mission of success in the classroom, community, and arena of competition. Former players, coaches, and other individuals who made significant contributions to the program, are eligible for selection.
