Sooter Named SLIAC Basketball Player of the Week

Senior Dietrick Sooter has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 15-18.

Sooter, a guard, averaged 18 points and four assists for the Gorloks in the two games of the Cavallo Classic, hosted by Webster. Sooter scored 25 points, had four assists, and three rebounds in a 100-84 victory over Rust College. The 25 points tied a career high for Sooter, who scored 25 in a game vs. Eureka College (Ill.) in 2011-12. He shot 6-9 (.667) from the field, 5-8 (.625) from three-point range, and was 8-9 (.889) from the free throw line for the game.

Sooter also had 11 points, four assists, two rebounds, and two steals in Webster’s season-opening loss, 78-68, to Sewanee. For his efforts, Sooter was named to the 2012 Cavallo All-Classic Team.
