The ambassador talked on a broad range of topics, including how the results of the U.S. general election would affect U.S. foreign policy, electoral demographics and the role of the media.

After his 20-minute speech, the ambassador opened up the floor to questions from university students and staff. Those questions covered many topics, from U.S. involvement in Syria, to domestic social policies such as tax reform and student debt, to the changing role of diplomacy in an interconnected world.

The overall tone of the event was one of hope, understanding and optimism; all characteristics the ambassador embodied.

The event was attended by approximately 80 members of the Webster University community, including students, faculty, staff and alumni, and all were appreciative and pleased that the ambassador was able share his viewpoints on issues relevant not only to Webster’s American students, but our worldwide community as a whole.

Webster Vienna thanks the ambassador for his time and the U.S embassy for their cooperation.
