Paul DeMarinis Sextet: Original Jazz Compositions Oct. 8

Paul DeMarinis, director of jazz studies at Webster University, will lead his sextet in a concert of new jazz compositions written by members of the ensemble. The sextet, including Webster adjunct faculty members Debby Lennon, Dave Black, Ben Wheeler and Webster alumnus Nick Schlueter, was formed in 2007 and released a CD of DeMarinis originals, “The Sun…The Stars,” in 2009.

The concert takes place Monday, Oct. 8, in the Winifred Moore Auditorium. Performers include DeMarinis on soprano and tenor saxophone, Lennon on vocals, Black on guitar, Schlueter on piano, Wheeler on bass and Kyle Honeycutt on drums.

Admission is $5 for the general public, $3 for senior adults, and free for Webster faculty staff and students with valid ID.
