The annual Gorlok Open May 21 drew 105 golfers to Sunset Country Club in St. Louis to celebrate Webster University and raise money for the Webster athletics program. The event is the largest single fundraiser of the year for Webster University Athletics and the proceeds directly benefit the department, its programs, and its facilities.

Golfers congratulated members of the World Series-bound baseball team.

One of the shining examples of that program, the World Series-bound Webster baseball team, made an appearance after returning from their NCAA regional championship in Tennessee.

Golfers were treated to perfect weather and some excellent shots — retiring Webster Chancellor (and newly named Chancellor Emeritus) Neil George won the “closest to the pin” competition.

“It was a great day of golf and celebration,” said Tom Hart, Webster Athletics director.

Hart thanked the event’s many sponsors and donors, including event sponsors Paric and Sodexo. Hart also thanked development officer Susan Robben and women’s basketball head coach Jordan Olufson for their tireless work in organizing the event.
