Justin Tetley, coordinator, Mail & Copy Solutions, and Kamie Poulton, representative, Fort Leavenworth, Kan., share the Employee Spotlight Award honors for December 2011.

Justin Tetley was nominated to receive the Employee Spotlight Award for his high level of professionalism and assistance with three major campus projects.

His proactive approach and guidance over the process made everything run smoothly and efficiently. “I am so proud to know we have such a caring and excellent professional working here at Webster,” says Justin’s nominator.

Justin has worked in the position of coordinator in the Mail & Copy Center for nearly two years. He says serving and building relationships with the Webster community is what he enjoys most.

“Continuing his education with tuition remission is a great benefit I am utilizing,” he adds.

Justin says attending a Xerox seminar in Rochester, New York, has had a lasting impact on his understanding of the importance of relationships with vendors and the value they provide in better servicing his customers.

“Winning the Employee Spotlight award validates and affirms all the effort I have invested in leading my team and serving our Webster family,” Justin says, adding that he didn’t expect it and feels there are many others very deserving of the award.

Justin chose a day off with pay as his prize.

Kamie Poulton came to work at the Fort Leavenworth campus about a year and a half ago, during a difficult time. The person Kamie replaced had left the position suddenly and wasn’t there to help train her. To make matters worse, the director was hospitalized, leaving only one other employee in the office with Kamie.

“It was at a time right before our graduation ceremony for over 100 graduates,” says Kamie’s nominator. “Kamie was able to adapt and complete the necessary requirements so that graduation came off without a hitch.

“Her dedication and hard work during this stressful time is so appreciated.”

Kamie says she loves working with the students and assisting them in accomplishing their goals. “It’s rewarding to see them succeed,” she says.

Kamie says the mentoring she received from her Webster colleagues when she first started was so supportive. “They have always taken the time to help and teach, which has brought about a strong Webster team and also made the work productive and fun.”

Winning the Spotlight award was a surprise to Kamie, and she says it shows her that diligence and perseverance pay off. It’s important to “do your best in all things,'” says Kamie.
