The Rep Blood Drive Sept. 6: Ticket Discounts to Blood Donors

| August 31, 2011
Red Cross Blood Drive Sept. 6

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) will hold a blood drive Sept. 6 in collaboration with the American Red Cross in the lobby of the Loretto-Hilton Center on the campus of Webster University.

The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Appointments occur every 15 minutes, with the last appointment time of the day at 3:45 pm. To make an appointment, please call Becky Hadley, public relations manager, at 314-968-4288. Walk-ins are welcome, however, appointments will take priority.

All donors must present a photo I.D. Refreshments will be provided to participants. Free parking is available in the garage off of Garden Avenue.

The American Red Cross urges all eligible blood donors to attend blood drives like the one at The Rep. While blood donations are up from extremely low levels seen in May and June, blood products continue to go to hospitals just as quickly as they are coming in. The sweltering heat waves that have baked much of the country have also hurt blood collections, as triple-digit temperatures have made it extremely difficult to recruit blood donors.

All blood types are needed, especially O negative, which can be used to treat any patient.

As a thank-you, donors will receive $5 off any ticket for Red (the first Mainstage production of the season running Sept. 7 – Oct. 2) in sections 1, 2 or 3. Prior sales are excluded and cannot be combined with any other offer. Tickets are subject to availability.
