Welcome Bag Items for New Student Orientation

| July 25, 2011

From Justin Barton, Student Affairs Office:

Each year New Student Orientation (NSO) welcomes a large group of new freshman and transfer students to the Webster community. This year we will prepare 800 welcome bags to give to these new students when they arrive on the Webster Groves campus for NSO Aug. 18-21. The bags contain valuable information and promotional items from both university departments and local businesses. Donating items to include in these bags is a great way for you to market yourselves to the new students and their families.

Ideal items for the welcome bags include creative, eye-catching flyers and fun promotional items. Examples of past welcome bag items include:

  • Pamphlets, flyers (half-page size)
  • Stress balls, water bottles, keychains
  • Magnets, pencils
  • Brochures, schedules, menus
  • Coupons

If you would like to donate promotional items from your department to the NSO welcome bags, we ask that you provide us with 800 of those items by Monday, Aug. 8. Items can be delivered to the NSO office in the University Center.

Once you decide what items you will be providing, please contact the NSO staff at ext. 7666, or email Orientation Coordinator Emily Bahr at emilybahr17@webster.edu, so we can get an idea of how many items to expect.

We look forward to your participation in New Student Orientation 2011!
