Fighting off the elements and a sluggish offense, the Webster University men’s baseball overcame a 3-0 deficit with a nine-run outburst in two innings to defeat Greenville College (Ill.), 9-3, for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference 2011 Tournament crown.

Senior Anthony Genna was named Most Valuable Player of the 2011 SLIAC Baseball Tournament for his efforts, going 5-13 with five RBIs and four runs scored.

With the May 14 win at Glik Park in Highland, Ill., the Gorloks will head to Memphis this week for their sixth trip to the NCAA III Championships in the past seven seasons. Visit the Webster Athletics site to read more on this story and keep up with all Gorloks action.
