Construction Update, May 13

| May 13, 2011

From Dan Hitchell, associate vice president, Resource Planning & Budget

Summer projects include:

• Due to health and safety concerns, the front porch of the Hunt House at 8350 Big Bend Blvd. will be replaced.

• The sidewalk along the east side of the Community Music School building will be closed during the week of May 16 due to connection of the new Academic Building to the institutional chilled water loop.

• Plans are pending to replace carpet on the first floor of the Emerson Library in August.

• The Multicultural Center and International Student Center will be moved to 536 Garden later in the summer, which will require enclosing the carport to create enough space. Contractors reviewed the plans today and will submit bids in two weeks.

• The Boommarkt 1 property in Leiden is undergoing a technology upgrade and maintenance project this summer.

These projects are pending final approvals and scheduling conflicts. Additional summer projects may be initiated — we’ll keep you posted.
