It can build communities and fortify relationships. It can prompt someone to action or create kindness. It can provide access to critical information and entrée to problems in their infancy. In short, social media can be one of the best investments any business or entrepreneur will make. But to bring in dividends means making that initial, well-thought out deposit.
To answer questions on making sure business is taking the right steps in communication through social media, Webster University ask area experts to provide their insight for a special Walker Speakers Series panel discussion Social Media: Bettering Your Business. A standing room only audience filled the Sunnen Lounge at Webster University to hear Chris Reimer, Owner of Rizzo Tees and Chief Marketing Officer for the Scorch Agency; Kathleen Manning, Media Specialist for Monsanto; Amber Talbot, Social Media Marketing Supervisor at Scottrade; and Dave Collett, Senior Vice President and Global Client Relationship Leader, Weber Shandwick answer questions from moderator Dr. Benjamin Akande and members of the audience in the room and via Twitter.
“There are no walls that keep us from realizing our dream when it comes to social media,” said Dean Akande. “The only wall you’ll face is the limit of your imagination and of course those you write a post for on Facebook.”
