Volleyball

Volleyball camps for grade and high schoolers started it off the week of June 8-14 with 35 total grade schoolers and high school players taking part.  Webster head coach Merry Graf and her staff stress that players improve their skills in a competitive but fun atmosphere. This was Graf’s 12th year hosting the camp. A Nike All Skills Camp, with 37 participants, and Nike Advanced volleyball camp (July 8-10) are underway this week.

Volleyball specialty camps for players in 8th-12th grades in setting, defense, and hitting will be offered on July 27-29. Volleyball players will have the opportunity to take their training a step further through these specialized skills camps.

Campers received fundamental instruction in ball handling, shooting, rebounding, passing, defense, and team play. They also participated in games designed to enhance skills while giving a greater appreciation of the sport.

A Nike girls’ basketball camp was held on June 14-17, with a second to be held on July 12-14. Some campers took advantage of the opportunity to stay overnight.  Off court activities included pizza and movie nights.

A Nike boys’ basketball camp, directed by Bunch, was held on June 21-24, with a second to be held on July 19-22. These camps are for young basketball players looking to develop and refine their basketball fundamentals and includes a curriculum for intermediate/advanced players looking to enhance their skills set.
