Farewell to Roshaunda Cade

| June 25, 2015

The Webster University community is invited to wish Roshaunda Cade, Academic Resource Center (ARC) assistant director, farewell as she takes on her new role as an English teacher at Clayton High School.

Cade joined Webster in July 2008 as coordinator of the Writing Center within the ARC. Under her leadership, the usage of the writing center grew dramatically, in part because of her development of a full service Online Writing Center. She eventually took on roles as an assistant director within the ARC and for the last year has provided leadership in laying the foundation for broader writing efforts, including faculty development for teaching writing through the Faculty Development Center and organizing efforts to address plagiarism in student writing.

A 2013 participant in the Global Staff Exchange, Cade established shared practices and resources for other writing centers within the Webster network. Under her direction the freshman writing award, an opportunity to recognize excellence in the writing of first-year students, expanded to include recipients worldwide.

A farewell reception for Roshaunda will be next Wednesday, July 1 at 3 p.m. in the Faculty Development Center (Emerson Library room 420).

I would also like to thank you soooooooo much for assisting the students I have worked with throughout your time here. You coming to my class was always a highlight. You made writing fun and an adventure for the Freshman students, not a chore. It is not hard to see you love your field, it comes so natural to you. You will be missed. The Clayton English Department is lucky to have you.
