Farewell for Shelley Sawalich, Named Dean of Students at Logan University

| May 28, 2015

Please join the Office of Academic Affairs in wishing Shelley Sawalich, director of the Academic Resource Center (ARC), good luck and farewell as she leaves Webster University. Sawalich has accepted the position of Dean of Students with Logan University.

She joined Webster University in August 2012 and was instrumental in advancing several initiatives at the ARC.

“Shelley provided leadership to and advocacy for several projects designed to meet students where they are and set them up for success,” said Nancy Hellerud, vice provost. “She and ARC staff members have expanded and enhanced the Transitions and TAPS programs for conditionally-admitted students, created an ARC faculty fellowship which focused on improving graduate student writing, and developed a collaborative program with the Faculty Development Center (FDC) to work with faculty on writing issues in their classes. With attention to data and results, she brought the ARC to a new level of service and quality.”

During her tenure, Sawalich also participated on several university-wide committees and participated in the Global Leadership Academy.

A farewell reception is planned for Thursday, June 18, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the FDC suite.
