Preview: Baseball Gorloks in NCAA Championships ‘World Series’

Following their regional championship win, the Webster University baseball team will head to its third NCAA D-III College World Series in the last four years.

The Webster University baseball team will make its third NCAA III Championships “College World Series” appearance in three years, opening the 2015 Series in Appleton, Wisconsin, on Friday, May 22, vs. No. 1-ranked SUNY-Cortland State.

The Competition

Frostburg State (New Jersey)  – The Bobcats (41-7) landed at Appleton after winning the Mid-East Regional. Frostburg is ranked No. 2 in the d3baseball.com ranking.

Ramapo College (New Jersey) –  The Roadrunners (32-14) won the New England Regional to earn Series berth. New Jersey Athletic Conference winners are unranked.

Cortland State (New York) –  No. 1-ranked by d3baseball.com, Cortland won the New York Regional and sport a 40-4 record.

Trinity University (Texas) –  The Tigers swept the West Regional and are ranked No. 14 in d3baseball.com with a 37-12 record.

Emory University (Georgia) –  The Eagles, defending NCAA III champs, lost their first game in the South Regional then won four straight to make the return trip to Appleton. Emory is 30-13 overall and unranked.

Salisbury University (Maryland) – The Sea Gulls swept the Mid-Atlantic Regional and are 33-4-1 overall. They are ranked No. 5 in the latest d3baseball.com poll.

Wisconsin-LaCrosse  – The Eagles won the Midwest Regional gaining an at-large berth after losing in the WIAC tournament. They are 33-13 and ranked No. 20.

  • Single day session pass for May 22, 23, and 24, adults $11, senior citizens and students $7
  • Single day session pass for May 25, 26 and 27, adults $7, senior citizens and students $5
