Fleming Named SLIAC Pitcher of the Week for 2nd Time

Webster University freshman Josh Fleming picked up his second Diamond Sports/St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Pitcher of the Week award of the 2015 season, for his performance the week of April 27-May 3.

Fleming closed out his inaugural collegiate regular season with a 3-0 shutout win at Fontbonne University. The win helped the Gorloks clinch the best record in the SLIAC this season (18-4). Fleming threw a complete game nine inning shutout, scattering just four hits, walking none, and striking out 12. Fleming retired 16 straight batters at one point during the game and allowed just one runner to reach second base.

Fleming is 6-2 overall this season with a 2.07 earned run average. He has 75 strikeouts in 65 1/3 innings pitched. Fleming led the SLIAC with a 5-0 record in conference play and posted an earned run average at 0.82.

Webster is ranked #22 in the country and will begin play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament on May 7 in Greenville, Illinois.
