Reception for Barbara Ann Barbato May 1

A reception will be held for Barbara Ann Barbato, SL, on Friday, May 1, 3-5 p.m., in the pink ballroom of the H. Sam Priest Center.

Barbato, a Sister of Loretto, joined Webster in 1963 as a faculty member in the history department, where she continued as a beloved professor until her retirement in 2003. She served many more roles during her tenure at Webster: education administrator; coordinator, mentor and advisor for the graduate program in international studies; director of the Center for Individualized Studies; interim dean of students; chair of the graduate council and chair of the curriculum committee.

At Webster’s May 9 Commencement website ceremony, she will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Pedagogy degree in recognition of her lifelong work as an educator.
