Kammer Named SLIAC Hitter of the Week, D3Baseball Player of the Week

Webster senior Jeff Kammer earned dual awards for his baseball performance the week of April 20-26

Webster University senior Jeff Kammer had another banner week at third base for the Gorloks baseball team, garnering conference and national recognition.

Kammer was named the Diamond Sports/St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Baseball Hitter of the Week for April 20-26. This is Kammer’s first selection, making him the fifth Gorlok to win the award this spring. This week he also earned his second d3baseball.com Player of the Week award for his performance.

Kammer helped the Gorloks to a 3-1 record and a return to the national top 25 polls.

He swung a powerful bat in helping the Gorloks pick up three important wins inĀ  SLIAC as the team went 3-1 overall. Kammer started the week going 2-5 in a 10-5 win over Greenville College, with a double, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. He followed that up with a 4-4 game against NCAA I Illinois State University, with a double and three RBIs. Kammer exploded in a double header win against Eureka College, going 6-8 with six RBIs, two home runs, and a double.

Kammer’s nine home runs so far this season are tied for the for the sixth highest total in a single season for the Gorloks.

Webster is 27-10 overall on the season and 16-3 in SLIAC.
