Seeking Student Performer/Band Submissions for Springfest 2015 Opening Act

A Great Big World

Springfest headliner A Great Big World will select the opening act from Webster student submissions.

Campus Activities is looking for a Webster University student or band to be the opening act for this year’s Springfest concert with the Grammy award-winning duo, A Great Big World. The concert will be the evening of Saturday, April 18, in the Grant Gym on Webster’s home campus in Webster Groves.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this opportunity the act must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a currently registered student in good academic, judicial and financial standing, OR have at least 50 percent of group members who are currently registered students in good academic, judicial and financial standing at Webster University.
  • Have quality performance material for a 40-minute set.
  • Be available for a sound check prior to the performance start time.
    • Sound Check final time still to be determined – between 12 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18
    • Performance time Saturday, April 18, 2015 from approx. 7:30 p.m. – 8:10 p.m.
    • Selected performer would get to participate in a Meet & Greet with A Great Big World prior to the performance.
Application

Interested musicians/bands must complete the submission survey, and submit a YouTube video link of their material. Submissions will be accepted Monday, March 23, 10 a.m. – Friday, March 27, 5 p.m. via the survey below:

Voting

Voting will take place Monday, March 30, 12 a.m. – Thursday, April 2, 5 p.m. via “likes” on the Webster University Campus Activities Facebook Page. Receiving the most “likes” does not guarantee selection, as the headlining artist (A Great Big World) will choose the musician/band from the top three referral list.

The chosen performer will be contacted by the Campus Activities staff.
