Webster Thailand Faculty Panelists at Singapore Conference

Webster Thailand’s International Relations professors Rachael Rudolph and Ken Houston served as “Sharing Ideas about Inclusive Practices, Teaching and Research in IR” panelists.

Webster University Thailand International Relations professors Rachael Rudolph and Ken Houston were panelists at the International Studies Association Global South Caucus at the Singapore Management University (SMU), held Jan. 8-10 in Singapore.

Rudolph and Houston participated on the panel “Sharing Ideas about Inclusive Practices, Teaching and Research in IR.” The panel was proposed by the IR team in St. Louis. The two faculty members were among several hundred delegates who participated over three days in a range of panels.

Rudolph examined the practicalities of improving student research skills, while Houston spoke about the challenges of student participation, plagiarism and language proficiency.

They also met with faculty and students of SMU and shared their experiences of social sciences and political science learning in the global south, as Webster Thailand is in a relatively unique position by offering a U.S. liberal arts program in this region.
