Email Cleanup: Take Out the Trash

| December 22, 2014

Doing any maintenance and office cleaning for the new year? Information Technology reminds Webster community members to regularly empty their trash folder and deleted items in their Webster e-mail account in order to maximize available space and performance of Webster’s e-mail servers (especially for accounts on pop, poe and nash servers due to older hardware and software). Note: For messages to be permanently deleted, your trash folder must also be cleared.

Empty Trash Weekly

Think of your electronic trash just like the trash you discard at home. When you let it build up over time, it interferes with your everyday tasks. Eventually, it will begin to impact your neighbors. Please make it a habit to empty your trash/deleted items folder on a weekly basis. This will help keep our servers running smoothly, which means fewer e-mail issues for you and your coworkers.

If you have any questions about how to locate your trash folder, please contact the IT Service Desk.
