Webster University Library invites members of the Webster community to mark their calendars for the 2015 dates of the Webster University Book Club. All meetings are at noon in the Library Conference Room and everyone is welcome.

Join us as we discuss the classic, John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, on Jan. 12 at noon in the Library Conference Room. Everyone is welcome!

About The Grapes of Wrath

Published in 1939, The Grapes of Wrath won the National Book Award, the Pulitzer Prize, and was a significant step in Steinbeck’s journey to the Nobel Prize for Literature. The novel follows the Joad family from Dust Bowl in Oklahoma to the migrant farming camps of California. A mainstay of high school and college literature classes, the novel’s relevance continues undiminished today. Steinbeck showed up in an article in a late December issue of the Brain Pickings blog: “Being vs. Becoming: John Steinbeck on Creative Integrity, the Art of Changing Your Mind, the Humanistic Duty of the Artist.”
