Department head Chrisoula Papadopoulou presents the entry for de Waal on Webster Leiden’s new “Hall of Fame.”

Webster University Leiden has launched a new “Hall of Fame” on campus to highlight success among alumni. The initiative, a collaboration of the Department of Business & Management and the Alumni office, celebrates Webster alumni academic and business achievement.

The first addition to the Hall of Fame was celebrated in November when Webster Leiden welcomed alumnus Sjoerd de Waal to campus. A framed tribute was installed, informing visitors of de Waal’s achievements.

While on campus, de Waal also delivered a talk, “Lead Between the Lines,” based on his leadership ideas and the themes in his book of the same name.

As a leadership trainer, coach and consultant, de Waal helps leaders at all levels better understand their role in leadership. With his book, he devises a “blueprint that will help you to define your leadership in your specific situation, help you to regain control, to engage your team and define your goals, so that you can focus on what is important.”

De Waal earned his MBA from Webster University at the Leiden campus in 2003.
