The Winter Dance Workshop on Feb. 15 includes Ballet, Musical Theatre and Modern Dance classes, each an hour and a half in length.

Registration is now open for the Department of Dance’s annual Winter Dance Workshop, to be held Feb. 15, 2015, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Jean and Wells Hobler Center for Dance. Tuition for the workshop will be $75 and the registration deadline is Feb. 9, 2015.

The workshop will invite high school students to participate in classes taught by Webster University’s Department of Dance faculty in the Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts, a lunch and campus tour.

“We are thrilled to be hosting this compelling one-day workshop for high school aged students,” says Department of Dance Chair James Robey. “The workshop will present a wonderful opportunity for prospective students interested in Webster University to visit campus and engage in classes taught entirely by Webster Dance Faculty.”

Ballet, Musical Theatre and Modern Dance

The Winter Dance Workshop includes three classes, each an hour and a half in length. Ballet will be from 10-11:30 a.m. with Michael Uthoff, executive and artistic director of Dance St. Louis. The 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. time block will include a lunch and campus tour included in the tuition for the event, followed by a Musical Theatre class given by Head of the Musical Theatre Department, Lara Teeter. The day will conclude with a Modern class from 2:30-4 p.m. with Chair of the Department of Dance, James Robey.

“Webster’s Department of Dance continues to grow immensely each year, and I anticipate registration filling quickly with the caliber of faculty for this years workshop,” said Robey.
