Webster Vienna Mentoring Program

The Mentoring Program at Webster Vienna kicked off at ACCELOR, with 15 alumni matched to current students.

The Vienna Chapter of the Webster Alumni Association and the Career Development Center at Webster Vienna Private University successfully kicked off the Mentoring Program in Vienna at ACCELOR, a renowned Viennese executive coaching and training company that served as the program’s corporate partner and host.

Arthur Hirsh, director of Webster Vienna Private University, and Stefano Cantini, president of the Vienna Chapter of the Webster Alumni Association, welcomed Webster alumni and future mentors to the Oct. 23 event. After a short mentors’ training, Nathalie Scherfler, managing director of ACCELOR, gave a keynote speech, “How to keep up your work motivation.”

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the 15 assigned tandems for this year’s program. Alumni met their mentees for the first time and had the chance to get to know them better during an informal networking dinner. Graduate and undergraduate students were matched with alumni who either run their own business or work for a variety of organizations, representing HP, Ceska Sporitelna, Ottobock Healthcare, Verbund, or IAEA.

Similar to the program at the home campus in Webster Groves, successful alumni will support Webster senior students in getting their career started over the next months until their graduation in May. Students and alumni connect in a one-on-one mentoring relationship. During the next couple of months, mentors will act as sparring partners and share their wealth of personal and professional experience with the mentees.

Webster Vienna thanks its sponsor, ACCELOR, for being a great host for the kickoff-event. Best of luck to the mentors and students for their upcoming work and time together!
