Jenny Howard Named to Academic All-District Volleyball Team

Webster University senior Jenny Howard (right) has been selected to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District women’s volleyball team.

Senior Webster volleyball player Jenny Howard has been selected for the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District women’s volleyball team. Howard is also in consideration for the Capital One Academic All-America award.

Howard has had a distinguished career both on the court and in the classroom for the Gorloks. She holds a 3.76 cumulative grade point average, having been named to the Dean’s List twice while majoring in biology. In addition to playing two sports, she has been involved in other activities while at Webster. Howard is currently president of the Webster University Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

In volleyball, Howard was the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Player of the Year in 2012, the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year in 2011 and was named to the SLIAC First Team All-Conference Teams in 2011 and 2012. She received an honorable mention in 2013. She was also named to the SLIAC All-Tournament team in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and was the SLIAC Tournament MVP in 2012. She was SLIAC All-Academic in 2012 and 2013, and has been named SLIAC Player of the Week in volleyball a total of five times.

Howard is an outstanding track runner as well and competes in the 200 meter dash and 100 meter dash events.

Voting for the Capital One Academic All-Americans begins on Nov. 11, by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
