The second year of the Webster Mentoring Program is off to a successful start. The Office of Advancement and the Career Planning & Development Center collaborated and matched 60 students with alumni mentors.

The Webster Mentoring Program provides an opportunity for students and alumni to connect in a positive one-on-one mentoring relationship.

Through this six-month program that runs from mid-October through April, alumni can provide guidance and support to students by interacting with them, exchanging ideas and sharing their experiences and knowledge of career paths. Alumni mentors give back to their alma mater by serving as role models and leaders as they help students reach their career goals.

This year’s program has doubled the number of mentor/mentee matches from last year. Student mentees represent a wide range of majors including film production, management, theatre studies and dramaturgy, women & gender studies and international relations.

Mentees were matched with alumni who work for a variety of organizations including Scottrade, Inc., Twist Marketing, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Live Nation, the United Nations Development Program, the Dutch Parliament and Discovery Studios.

More information on the program can be found on the Webster University Mentoring Program page.
