Volleyball’s Kersting Named SLIAC Player of the Week

Webster University senior Sam Kersting has been selected as Offensive Player of the Week by the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) for the week of Oct. 6-12.

This selection marks the sixth time in Kersting’s three-year career at Webster that she has been named the SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. This is her first selection in 2014, and she was also name three times in 2012 and twice in 2013.

Kersting led the Gorlok attack in picking up a pair of conference wins last week, finishing the week with an impressive .595 attack percentage, averaging 4.0 kills per set in her two outings.

Kersting has moved into third place on Webster’s all-time list in block assists this week, with a current total of 219 for her career. Her Webster career block solo list is currently at 146, and she is in fourth place with 365 total blocks.

Overall the Webster volleyball team has won six straight SLIAC matches and are 9-2 in conference play.
