Reflective Teaching Community Meeting Oct. 3

| September 25, 2014

How can we help our students perceive challenging work as opportunities rather than something that’s threatening?

How can we encourage our students to understand their intellectual capacity isn’t fixed and help them develop a growth mindset?

What are some strategies we can employ to transform our students’ beliefs about themselves and the learning process?

Join the Reflective Teaching Community on Friday, Oct. 3 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Faculty Development Center. This will be the second meeting of the Fall semester, where we will explore strategies that address these questions and more as we continue to focus on aspects of Transformational Teaching. This month, we will discuss Providing Modeling and Mastery Experiences – where the teacher maximizes opportunities for students to observe and practice skills while they receive support from their teacher and their peers.

Pizza will be provided to feed those who attend, as well as sending participants resources prior to the meeting, so RSVP to Chris Jones at  cjones95@webster.edu. If you can’t attend, but are interested in the topic, contact Jones for topic materials.
