Webster Ghana in Wall Street Journal, St. Louis Business Journal

Webster University’s expansion into Ghana is cited several times in a Wall Street Journal article about why business schools around the world have been expanding into the continent. The article, on page B7 of the Aug. 7 print edition, quotes President Beth Stroble on securing local accreditation and offering diverse faculty and staff, and Provost Julian Schuster on the long-term strategy.

Webster University, which has residential campuses in Geneva, Vienna and a handful of other cities, opened its Accra location with 40 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate programs in business and international relations. The school’s first full class, starting this summer, will be double that size. The school expects a 150-student entering class next year.

The article appears appears online here.

The Wall Street Journal coverage of Webster University was also picked up locally by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Coach Belsky to Appear on Monday’s (Aug. 11) ‘Today Show’

Andrew Belsky, head coach of the Webster University men’s golf team, will be featured on NBC’s “Today” show on Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. CDT. Forget winning the 2014 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Championship and being named the SLIAC 2014 Coach of the Year though; Belsky will be on the show for losing — 105 pounds, that is.

Belsky’s success using the bistroMD weight loss program garnered the attention of the company, and has led to this appearance, where Today Show staffers have asked if he could bring his clubs for the appearance on air.

Belsky was more than happy to share tips and to share his story. “I’m excited to have been chosen to portray the potential success of the bistroMD diet plan,” he said. “I really hope my story can serve as an inspiration to others who are fighting a battle with their weight.”

Watch for Belsky’s scheduled appearance on the “Today” show Monday, Aug. 11, in the late-morning portion of Today with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford at 11 a.m. CDT.
