Webster Tennis Teams Earn ITA Academic Honors

The Webster women’s squad was one of only 91 tennis teams at the NCAA III level who qualified for the All-Academic Team Award.

The Webster University women’s tennis team was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with an All-Academic Team Award for 2014. In addition, three players from the women’s team and four players from the men’s team earned individual honors, being named ITA Scholar Athletes for 2014.

To qualify for the ITA All-Academic Team Award, team rosters must maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA for the academic year to qualify.  Individual Award winners must maintain a 3.5 GPA for the year to qualify for the Scholar Athlete Award.

For the women’s team, sophomores Kaylen Kress, Erin Roop and junior Marissa Lewis earned 2014 ITA Scholar Athlete Awards.

On the men’s team, freshman Juan Granizo, sophomore Travis Blair, juniors Carlton Poindexter and Karl Weisshaupt all received 2014 Scholar Athlete Awards from the ITA.
